Reflecting Brazilianities in Globalisation
Brasil Central is a community-based project running on voluntary fuel. It was born as a radio show in May of 2017 proposing a light and reflective bilingual meeting point around brazilianities in globalization. The show airs every Friday from 1 pm to 2 pm (AEST) and midnight to 1 am (Brasília time) at Bay FM 99.9 – a multi-awarded community radio station from Byron Bay, Australia. Live streaming is also available from www.bayfm.org.
Our logo was created by the designer Jorge Patrocínio inspired from symbols attributed to the Kadiweu people from western Brazil, with the blessing of the chief Mr. Joel Vergilio Pires.
Brasil Central also has a podcast page where you can listen to earlier shows, special features such as the amazingly curated music and high sound quality setlists by Astronafrica and other DJs who research Brazilian inspired music, full-length interviews and special gifts for subscribers.
